Drama Theory is concerned with eliminating dilemmas.
Dilemmas
A Dilemma is caused if somebody's position is being flouted (persuasion & threat dilemmas) or if there is doubt that it will not be flouted (doubt dilemma).
If I don't doubt that my position will be flouted, then I have a PersuasionDilemma.
If I do doubt that my position will be flouted, then you (the other character) have a ThreatDilemma.
If I doubt your intention not to flout my position, I have a TrustDilemma.
Positions
A position is what you are communicating you think should happen - a putative intention.
A position is stated and declared.
Intentions
An intention is what you are going to do given everyone's positions and intentions.
An intention is stated and declared.
An intention can have been irreversibly carried out. If an intention has been irreversibly carried out and it flouts the position of one of the parties, that party has a special kind of PersuasionDilemma that may lead to revenge.
